Vice President Kamala Harris expressed her approval of the recent multinational prisoner swap with Russia, which led to the release of Wall Street reporter Evan Gershkovich and former US Marine Paul Whelan. She conveyed her satisfaction in knowing that these individuals will soon be reunited with their families.
In a social media post, Harris celebrated the release of Paul, Evan, Alsu, Vladimir, and others who were held in Russia. She emphasized the relief she felt that their distressing ordeal has come to an end and that they will be able to return to their loved ones. Harris also pledged to continue efforts, alongside President Biden, to ensure the safe return of all Americans who are wrongfully detained or held hostage.
Today, Vice President Harris is scheduled to deliver the eulogy at a service honoring Texas Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee in Houston.
