Vice President Kamala Harris currently holds 49% support, while former President Donald Trump is at 48% in the latest national Poll of Polls, indicating a tight race for the presidency with no clear leader emerging.
The average percentages mirror the standings just before the September 10 presidential debate and are based on four polls conducted from late September to early October. All these polls were finalized by October 1, coinciding with the only debate between vice presidential candidates Tim Walz and JD Vance in this campaign cycle.
Most of the polls included in the average show a close race, falling within the margin of sampling error for each respective poll. This suggests that the competition between Vice President Harris and former President Trump is highly competitive and could swing in either direction as the election approaches.
