Vice President-elect JD Vance and incoming national security adviser Mike Waltz held a meeting on Wednesday with top Ukrainian official Andriy Yermak, as reported by three sources familiar with the matter.
This meeting is significant in light of President-elect Donald Trump's indication of a policy shift towards Ukraine, aiming to bring an end to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

The meeting, which also included Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Defense for European Integration Sergiy Boyev, was not focused on discussing a potential peace plan or resolution to the war. Instead, the Ukrainian officials aimed to provide Waltz and Vance with their assessment of the situation and establish a rapport with them. According to one of the sources, the Ukrainian officials considered the meeting successful in achieving these objectives and expressed satisfaction with the outcome.
