A Victorian mother has admitted she killed her six-month-old baby boy.
Bao Tram Anh Nguyen, 37, faced Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday, charged over conduct that caused the death of her baby Spencer Jordan Recto.
Spencer died in circumstances that amount to infanticide on May 20 this year, court documents reveal.
Nguyen appeared remotely by video link in court where she pleaded guilty to the infanticide charge.
No further details about Spencer's death were aired in court and Nguyen remains on bail, with strict conditions including that she cannot leave Victoria or Australia without police permission.
She will next appear at the Supreme Court for a directions hearing on January 23, 2023.
