A new bar is set to open in Liverpool city centre and it will replace a much-loved venue.
Arts Bar, which is based on Hope Street, has confirmed it will open a second venue in the city. The new bar is set to open soon inside the former Baltic Social.
The Baltic Social on Parliament Street in the city centre shared the news in August 2022 that a combination of factors has led to the decision to close its doors. The team announced that it was “with a heavy heart” they made the announcement but that the “combination of trying to bounce back post covid” as well as “absolutely astronomical increases in energy, food and drink prices” impacted the decision.

Arts Bar has now taken to social media to announce its second venue, inside the Baltic Social’s former home at Elevator Studios on Parliament Street. The new site will be called Arts Bar Baltic.
The full post read: “Coming very soon. We are so excited to bring you another Arts Bar and this time, it’s a Baltic Thing!
“We’ll be moving into the ground floor of Elevator Studios, which for so many years was loved by so many as the wonderful Baltic Social. We hope we can bring to life as many amazing memories as they did in the space.
“We are so proud to be involved in another area of the city that is bursting at the seams with creativity. We hope we can create a platform for so many people to showcase the amazing work they make. AND we can’t wait to celebrate with you. Go give @artsbarbaltic a follow to stay in the loop.”
According to the bar's new Instagram page, it will be a "vibrant space in the heart of Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle." It plans to feature live music, fresh coffee, food, drinks and "good vibes."
Work has now begun on transforming the space, with the bar announcing “the start of a very exciting new project.” An opening date has not yet been confirmed for Arts Bar Baltic.
