Those tuning in to watch Euro 2024 qualifying coverage have been having to look for a new platform, Viaplay, to access official live coverage.
Here is everything you need to know about the service, and how to get it.
What is Viaplay and their rights deal?
Viaplay, the Swedish streaming company owned by Nordic Entertainment Group, acquired broadcast rights in the UK for home nations matches (excluding England) in UEFA international competitions in April 2022. This includes Euro 2024 and 2028 qualifiers and the UEFA Nations League as well as centralised international friendlies.
The service also has rights to La Liga, Scottish Cup football, Elite Ice Hockey League and NASCAR.
In November, they bought Premier Sports and with it, all of their previous broadcasting rights deals. This included Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland international matches.
How do I get Viaplay?
Viaplay is a subscription service that can be bought in various packages. The monthly package costs £14.99 and includes all live sports coverage they offer, plus movies and Nordic TV series.
Their annual package includes the same content but works out at £11.99 per month. You can cancel subscriptions at any time.
Is there any way to get free-to-air coverage?
In Wales and England, yes. Wales have free coverage of all their qualifiers on S4C with Welsh commentary. England fans can watch all their games on Channel 4 for free.
Scotland, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland fans can only access coverage through Viaplay.
