Jesse Marsch reveals Leeds United board talks and explains plans for changes

Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch has insisted he retains the full backing of the board ahead of Saturday's trip to Liverpool. Marsch has been under increasing pressure in the last seven days after consecutive defeats against Leicester City and Fulham saw Leeds slide into the bottom three of the Premier League.

Leeds are now winless in eight matches with their last taste of victory coming on August 21 in the 3-0 win over Chelsea. Sections of the fanbase have not been afraid to make their feelings known on Marsch's position with chants of, 'you're getting sacked in the morning' heard at Elland Road on Sunday.

That said, Andrea Radrizzani, Victor Orta and co have continued to place their faith into Marsch this week, with preparations underway for the trip to Anfield. Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Marsch claimed that all of his focus has solely been on the clash with Liverpool and has paid no notice to the ongoing speculation.

He said: "They have been very supportive, I have spoken with Angus, Andrea and Victor multiple times. We have done a few things, we're modifying our World Cup schedule to think about how we can maximise what we need in the moment, everything from matches to where we are travelling for training.

"We have talked about adding staff, we're looking carefully at things like psychologists and adding to the complexity of what we're doing as staff. Transfers obviously and they have been very supportive but of course I am not dumb, I understand exactly that if we don't win games I put them in a very difficult situation to continue to support me.

"My focus is entirely on what is necessary for the next three games and you can include the Wolves match in the Carabao Cup in that as well."
