- Actor, screenwriter, and author Stephen Fry has been knighted by the King for his contributions to mental health awareness, the environment, and charity work.
- Sir Stephen was supported by his husband, Elliott Spencer, mother Marianne and sister Joanna at the ceremony at Windsor Castle.
- He has been president of the charity Mind since 2011 and since 2009 has been vice-president of conservation charity Fauna & Flora International.
- Sir Stephen joked that a dukedom might further enhance his ability to advocate for positive change.
- He said he was “very honoured” to be recognised for his charity work and efforts to destigmatise mental health.
