Vincent Kompany believes Kylian Mbappe is like 'Ronaldinho in his prime' amid continued speculation linking the forward with a move to Liverpool.
According to a report from Spain last month, Mbappe told Paris Saint-Germain he wanted to leave in July amid significant interest from Real Madrid, who bid £154million for the 23-year-old in the summer before he signed a new contract in Paris.
The report from Marca claimed the forward now wants to leave in January as his relationship with the French club is 'completely broken' - but he will not be allowed to join Real and his only feasible option could be Liverpool.

Mbappe has previously stayed silent on the reports, refusing to shut down the rumours linking him to Liverpool while others at PSG have denied them. However, in an interview last month, the France international broke rank to deny he has made demands to his club.
He said: “I have not asked to leave Paris Saint-Germain in January. I’m not furious with the club, it’s not true.
''I didn't understand why the story came out on the day of a game. I was as shocked as everyone. People can think I was involved but I wasn't at all."
Mbappe is currently in Qatar representing France in the World Cup, and helped his side beat Australia in the first game of their title defence on Wednesday night. He scored and assisted for Les Bleus as they came from behind to win 4-1.
And speaking afterwards, former Manchester City captain Komany was quick to praise Mbappe.
“He is smart and sounds rational in everything he says, then I just think he has figured out, 'I am the best in this game', and he knows it,” he said on BBC Sport.
“He has a choice to tell us or not and he has decided to tell us – he backs it up. He’s so light, it’s not like you can really lay a glove on him.
“He’s light and quick. He’s got first, second and third movements before he gets into the box. He is unpredictable. He can run past you one v one, or just be in the box for a tap-in.
“He has everything. He has a bit of Henry and Anelka. A bit of everything. I have really enjoyed watching him. But there are very few players who give you that feeling (difficulty in defending against him). Ronaldinho in his prime.
“Probably Messi in his prime. Cristiano Ronaldo. With these players, there is actually no solutions – it’s very difficult to limit a player like this.”
