Vernon Kay has shared an insight into what life is like in his household during Strictly.
The presenter, 48, revealed he watches the show every week to see wife Tess, 53, host the show alongside Claudia Winkleman and always worries she may trip up in her "beautiful gowns" after the credit rolls.
Vernon described the hit BBC show, which first launched is 2004, as their "third baby", but says he has never been asked by bosses to compete on the show.
He said: "Strictly is like our third baby. You know it only comes and visits from June until Christmas so we’re kind of programmed for it now. I’ve never been asked, to be honest with you.
Vernon told OK Magazine maybe the reason he hasn't been asked is because he is such close friends with the professional dancers and judges.
"I’m good friends with many of them – I play golf with Anton," he said. So yes, maybe that’s why they haven’t asked me. I do enjoy the process of getting to know the dancers, I enjoy watching their rehearsal tapes and I enjoy sitting down with Tess and watching It Takes Two."
Vernon added: "I dread Tess tripping up when she comes around the corner on the stage, I make sure I’m watching after the titles, when Tess says hello and welcome to Strictly, and Claudia says something. I just want to make sure that she’s done the opening link without tripping on her beautiful gown."
It comes after the TV veteran teased his teenage daughters 'don't care' about Strictly, saying that they only watch the show to see what their mum Tess is wearing.
Vernon admitted whilst he is "glued" to the TV watching his wife present the show, their daughters, Phoebe, 17, and Amber, 13, aren't the same.
He told Heat magazine Phoebe and Amber are too busy to watch Strictly, with him adding that they check in to see what their mum Tess is wearing and then "they're off".
Vernon and Tess have been married since 2003. The couple welcomed their eldest daughter the following year, with their youngest born a few years later in 2009.
