Vera jobs up for grabs as filming continues on next series of ITV drama

In what are absolute dream jobs for any Vera fans with the right qualifications and experience, two vacancies have come up to join the crew of the ITV drama as filming on the next series continues.

While fans are still left wondering when they'll get to see the remaining two episodes of series 11, as ITV remain tight-lipped, work is well underway on the next run of episodes.

The current series of Vera's screen time has been put on pause twice now; firstly in autumn last year, when the first two parts aired, only for it then to vanish from TV schedules as the rest of the episodes were still filming. Then, after Vera returned earlier this year, it was then pulled again to make way for the new run of The Good Karma Hospital and the launch of gripping Vicky McClure drama Trigger Point.

Since then Brenda Blethyn and co-stars like Kenny Doughty have been spotted filming over the North East, from Morpeth to Darlington and Elswick to Hartlepool. And there is now an opportunity for two people to join the Vera ranks, with the show looking for both a Graphic Designer and Trainee Floor Runner.

Call outs for both roles appeared on the NE Screen Crew Academy's Facebook page this week. The ad for the Graphic Designer job read: 'Vera S12 is looking for a Graphic Designer to join their Art Department team. They are open to hear from Assistant Graphic Designers ready to step up. Ideally North East based applicants but there is a possibility to WFH."

The start date is July 25, with the role expected to last seven weeks. To apply, email pg.booth@icloud.com.

Moving onto the Trainee Floor Runner. position, the post read: "Vera S12 is looking for a North East based trainee floor runner for 6 weeks. To start on the 25th July for one week, and then back w/c 8th August until 11th September."

Interested parties should contact catherine.kinson@itv.com and must be able to drive.

Commenting on the post, one fan remarked: "If I was 20 years younger would have jumped at the chance I love Vera brilliant show."
