Vengaboys look completely different as they perform at 90s legends festival

90s icons the Vengaboys looked very different as they took to the stage at a festival over the weekend.

The Dutch Eurodance music group were one of the throwback acts who performed at the Back 2 festival in Catton Park in South Derbyshire alongside other 90s legends.

Robin Pors, Kim Sasabone, Denise Post-Van Rijswijk and Donny Latupeirissa all reunited to belt out classics like We're Going to Ibiza and We Like to Party for delighted fans in the crowd.

The festival - which ran from Thursday all the way through to Sunday - saw the audience treated to other hits of nostalgia, with East 17, Steps, Aqua, Cascada and S Club also performing.

The Vengaboys originally shot to fame with Robin Pors, who was later replaced by Yorick Bakker in 1999 when she left the band.

After dominating the airwaves and the charts in the 90s and early 00s with their catchy bops, the band took a brief break before Robin returned once again - alongside Donny - during their 2006 comeback.

In 2019, the Europop favourites celebrated their 20th anniversary and released the songs "Boom, boom, Boom, Boom!! - Unplugged" and "We're going to Ibiza! - Unplugged" in June on an EP titled Unplugged #1.

Speaking last year - ahead of the release of a new single - the Vengaboys looked back on their career and the major celebrities they've bumped into over the last two decades.

"It was a whirlwind," Kim recalled to the Metro regarding their early days of fame. "Our very first tour on the US, for us, we were like 21 and it was the first time going to America and you’re like, startled all the time.

"You’re on stage in the Chicago Bulls stadium with 80,000 people and there’s a line-up hanging in the dressing room and the dressing room is like a big camper van and it says, Ricky Martin, N’SYNC, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears and it was just unthinkable for us to be there in that line-up.

"To make it more exciting, we got on stage and everyone knows our song. Everyone knows We Like to Party, We’re going to Ibiza but they don’t know what we’re saying because they don’t have a clue what Ibiza is. They had signs up, 'Woah, we’re going to eat pizza.' I think that was the most memorable."

Vengaboys are considered the most successful Dutch group in history after selling an estimated 25million records worldwide.

After the Covid-19 pandemic hit in 2020, the Vengaboys - like other music acts - were forced to put their touring on hold. However, the group was finally able to return to the stage in September 2021 and have been travelling around the world since.
