A member of the violent Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang was arrested during sweeping immigration raids in New York City on Tuesday. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem revealed that the arrested individual was attempting to purchase grenades, emphasizing the danger posed by such actions.
Noem, who was present during the raids targeting violent criminals in major cities, described the arrested individual as a 'ringleader' of the gang. The suspect, identified as Anderson Zambrano-Pacheco, was apprehended in a Bronx apartment and charged with kidnapping, assault, and burglary.
Zambrano-Pacheco, 26, was captured on video participating in a violent incident in Aurora, Colorado, and was found to be in the country illegally. He appeared in Manhattan federal court following his arrest.

Noem highlighted President Donald Trump's efforts to combat illegal criminal activity, despite opposition from some Democratic leaders. She commended the support shown by the public towards law enforcement officers involved in maintaining safety.
The threat of the gang's violent crimes has instilled fear within the community, according to Tyreek Goodman, a member of the Bronx County Conservative Party. Goodman emphasized the importance of standing by law enforcement to ensure public safety.
As part of the administration's commitment to deport dangerous foreign criminals, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reported 1016 arrests and 814 detainers issued in a single day. The swift actions taken by ICE underscore the government's determination to uphold law and order.
