The Saucy Cow restaurant has confirmed the closure of one of its locations in a sad update to social media.
The vegan restaurant announced they were closing their Eatyard food truck, which lies within the grounds of The Bernard Shaw. The owners of the business suggested on Instagram they have closed their premises due to the current economy.
The owners wrote: “Unfortunately due to the general going ons of the times we have had to make the difficult choice to close our Eatyard location.”
They added: “Eatyard has been our second home for the last three years and although we are very sad to say goodbye, our hearts are filled with love and the best memories.”
However, the owners remained optimistic about a future return. They thanked their customer base for their ongoing support and hinted at a potential return to Eatyard if the economy improves. They also added that they would not have been able to open the Temple Bar restaurant without the enthusiasm of their Eatyard customers.
Fans of the restaurant can still indulge in The Saucy Cow’s tasty cuisine, as their Temple Bar restaurant remains open Tuesday through Sunday. The vegan business offers customers a wide range of plant based burgers, wraps and loaded fries.
Customers praised the business underneath the post and lamented its departure from The Bernard Shaw. Many people promised they would continue to visit the Temple Bar restaurant in support of the business.
The Saucy Cow is the second plant based premises to close in recent months. The Vegan Sandwich Co previously announced the closure of their two remaining Dublin branches back in September, citing rising costs as the reason for their departure. The business was Ireland’s winning entry in the UberEats Restaurant of the Year competition.
