Channel 4's latest drama in Vardy v Rooney: A Courtroom Drama has left viewers with mixed reviews after its initial instalment last night (21 December) - with many complaining within minutes of the two-parter debuting.
Others hailed the show the 'best TV all year', as the highly anticipated drama depicting the UK High Court battle between Rebekah Vardy and Coleen Rooney which took place earlier this year finally landed on nationwide TV sets.
The defamation case gripped residents of the nation this summer, as well as those further afield - with Rebekah losing her case against Coleen over a viral social media post.

The Mirror reports that Channel 4's take on the case, and the huge attention it received, used the real court transcripts – giving a glimpse as to what happened behind closed doors. But from the off, viewers of the dramatised edition of the high profile case were unsure of what to make of it all, including the cast.
Actor Michael Sheen portrays barrister David Sherborne in the show, while he is joined by BAFTA -winning actor Chanel Cresswell as Coleen, and Game of Thrones and Harry Potter star Natalia Tena who portrays Rebekah. Some viewers confessed they were distracted by the casting, with some not impressed – but others were complaining about something else.
Viewers called the drama 'rubbish' and within minutes many admitted they had turned over. But while some fans asked why they were watching the 'awful' episode, others hailed it the 'best TV all year' – excited to see part two.
Taking to Twitter, one unimpressed viewer said: "Lasted 14 mins. Absolutely s****e," while another, added: "This is just awful." A third fan complained: "They don't even look like Rebecca or Coleen."
Others disagreed with the comments, with many loving the dramatized version of the court case. One viewer said: "Best TV all year," as a second, wrote: "This is hilarious. Im dying."
A third fan continued: "This is just so s**t it’s brilliant," as another tweeted: "Oh god, this is good tv."
