The mother of a missing San Antonio woman believes that her daughter is the victim of human trafficking and has vowed to never stop searching for her.
Jeanie Chavez, 32, was last seen in July. The family has agonized over her disappearance ever since, reported KENS-5.
"It's really, really bad, this in San Antonio, what is happening to these young missing girls," Annie Salcido, Jeanie's mother, told the TV station. "I just know that he sold my daughter, and he sold her for some drugs and some money."
Chavez is 5'5 inches tall and weighs about 100 pounds. She has dark hair and is Hispanic. She has tattoos on her arms, neck, ankles, and chest. She was last seen in the 1000 block of Agnier Avenue in San Antonio.
"He really did pick the wrong family, because we are never going to stop looking. We are never going to give up, and we are going to stop this," said Salcido told KENS-5.
Salcido previously told FOX 7 that Chavez struggled with addiction and was in an abusive relationship, adding that her daughter told her in their last phone conversation that she planned to go to rehab.
Later, however, FOX 7 reported that she received a call from a man her daughter had been dating. The man told her "that she didn't want to go to rehab but was embarrassed to tell me. I just knew that it was all false information."
After the phone call, Salcido said that someone sent her, her daughter's belongings.
"A bunch of pictures of the kids, important information like kids' Social Security cards. Most importantly, what stood out the most for me was her journal," Salcido told FOX 7.
