Ben Ofoedu admits he 'spiralled out of control' after his split from Vanessa Feltz.
Vanessa, 61, ended her relationship with Ben, 50, after finding out he had been unfaithful multiple times across their 16 year relationship. The TV agony aunt revealed following their split that she found out about Ben's infidelity on Christmas Day and decided to end their engagement.
The Phats & Small star has opened up about their split and the death of his brother Roy admitting that he understands how people feel "there's no way out". Ben's brother Roy passed away aged 47 after an 'unexpected medical crisis'.
Speaking to MailOnline, Ben said: "Tony And Tina's wedding literally saved my life. Like, literally saved my life. I had two major griefs. I had my brother pass away and then shortly after that, my relationship with Vanessa was no more.
"That's a 17 year relationship. And man, I was just spiralling out of control. I just felt like everything was closing in on me, my whole life and with the trolling and the backlash I received from my split with Vanessa.
"I understand that people are just saying stuff and voicing their opinion, but I kind of understand now how people feel that there's no way out and they just want to end it all."
He continued: "I can understand that if you subscribe to it and you read all the comments and stuff like that, you really start to feel terrible as a person, even though you're trying to forgive yourself and you can't forgive yourself because no one's going to forgive you and then you can't even forgive yourself."
He added: "It's like a never-ending story and I remember waking up and dreading what the next headline was going to be, absolutely dreading."
Vanessa announced she had split from Ben in January after her daughter was sent messages from the mistress claiming that her mum's fiancé, Ben, was cheating on her on Christmas Day.
The family were opening presents and having 'a lovely time' when messages revealing Ben’s betrayal were sent to Vanessa’s daughter Allegra via Instagram, she said.
