Vanessa Feltz discusses disowning friends as she highlights 'real' Holly Willoughby

After Vanessa Feltz ' defence of her friend Holly Willoughby. earlier this week, she's now been offering up some tips for issues of friendship and disowning friends on today's episode.

Holly's ITV co-star Alison Hammond is said to be upset about being dragged into the furore surrounding Phillip Schofield 's exit from the channel after his admission of an "unwise but not illegal" affair with a younger colleague on the show - as well as the very public demise of his friendship with Holly.

After Eamonn Holmes' blistering attack on Holly for appearing to grow closer to Friday host Alison in recent months, with the GB News presenter accusing Holly of "faking" her relationship with Alison in a bid to win over viewers in a bombshell interview, the Mirror reports. Holly is reportedly keen to smooth things over with the former Big Brother star. It comes after Eamonn also said the friendship "wouldn't have happened 13 years ago" and said it was "disgusting" that Holly was "using" Alison.

Earlier this week we reported Vanessa had admitted she was devastated about Schofield 's sensational exit from This Morning and affair confession

The broadcaster, 61, frequently appears on the flagship ITV show as she heaped praise on the 'beautiful' and 'sweet' Holly. Vanessa defended This Morning and rubbished the 'toxic' claims brought to light by Dr Ranj Singh and Eamonn Holmes.

Speaking to OK! Magazine, Vanessa said she thought Holly to be a "really nice, good-natured, kind, sweet person" as she revealed she was "absolutely devastated" on behalf of everyone involved.

She added: "I’ve always been good friends with Holly and Phil, I’ve been on that show for years and years. I just feel very sorry for anybody who’s been hurt or implicated in what’s happened. I hope the show will continue."

On Today's instalment of This Morning, Vanessa was appearing as an agony aunt for viewers as she told one caller they should fight for their friend to be in their life. The caller said: "I've been friends with a group of friends for quite a long time and I've actually said no for the first time to plans and now since then they've not spoken to me.

"They normally call and normally text but they've disowned me."

Vanessa then replied: "Oh! That does sound really odd - maybe they felt rejected, you can never quite tell how someone will interpret something you do in a nice way with no ill will at all.

"They may take it as a knockback and a slap in the face. You've been friendly with them for ages, If I was you, I would give them a bell and say 'I didn't want to come that time but I certainly want to come next time' and invite them round for an evening in the sunshine.

"But don't allow this to fester and become a big thing."

Holly then had her say as she added: "So keep it light," as Vanessa added: "Friendships are so precious." Holly then said: "Yeah." TalkTV star Vanessa then went on: "When we lose friends throughout our life, sometimes we look back and wish we hadn't. So don't let that happen."

Holly then asked: "Do you feel like you have it in you to reach out one more time?"And the caller said: "Only the once, I can't do it anymore after this."
