Van Jefferson and his dad, Shawn Jefferson, both compete in the NFC West. Van is the Rams’ No. 3 receiver, while Shawn coaches the Cardinals’ wideouts – being a former NFL receiver himself.
On Tuesday, the Cardinals gave Shawn Jefferson a promotion, making him their associate head coach in addition to remaining the wide receivers coach. Van is excited to see his dad advance in Arizona, celebrating the news on Twitter.

Last year was Shawn Jefferson’s first as the Cardinals’ wide receivers coach after spending two years with the Jets. The Rams beat the Cardinals in two of their three meetings, so Van has some bragging rights over his dad.
We don’t yet know when the Rams and Cardinals will square off in 2022, but there are two more meetings on the schedule – if not a third in the postseason.
