A driver was taken to hospital after being involved in a crash between a van and a lorry in Washington.
Emergency services descended on Crowther Industrial Estate at around 6.30pm on Thursday following reports of a collision. Pictures show damage caused to the front end of the van and the rear of the lorry on Crowther Road.
Cones surrounded the incident and a section of the road was closed while police were at the scene. The driver of the van was taken to hospital and checked over, though there were no serious injuries.

A Northumbria Police spokesman said: “At around 6.35pm yesterday (Thursday), police received a report of a collision on Crowther Road in Washington. It was reported that a van had been travelling on the road when – for reasons to be established – it has collided with a lorry that was parked on the road.
"Emergency services attended the scene where thankfully no serious injuries were reported. The road was closed temporarily until it could be cleared."
A North East Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We received a call at 7.13pm last night (February 9) to reports of a road traffic incident on Crowther Road, Washington.
"We dispatched an ambulance crew and took one patient to the Sunderland Royal Hospital for further treatment."
