A man has been arrested after a police chase in Huyton.
Police were involved in the pursuit of a van at around 8.40am on Thursday, January 5 after it failed to stop. The white Ford van was involved in a chase before it crashed with a Mazda, on Liverpool Road.
Both vehicles were damaged in the crash and a traffic light was also knocked down. No serious injuries were reported, despite a passenger in the Mazda reportedly being assessed by paramedics.

Police have confirmed a 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and aggravated unlawful taking of a motor vehicle.
A spokesperson for Merseyside police said: "We have arrested a man following a road traffic collision in Huyton this morning Thursday, 5 January. At around 8.40am, we engaged in a pursuit of a white Ford van after it failed to stop for officers despite being indicated to do so.
"Following a brief pursuit, the van has collided with a Mazda on Liverpool Road, causing damage to both vehicles. There were no reported serious injuries. A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving and aggravated unlawful taking of a motor vehicle. Both vehicles have been removed and the road has now reopened."
