A van burst into flames on a Scots street sparking an emergency response yesterday. Fire crews scrambled to West Main Street in Armadale after the alarm was raised at around 12.35pm on Friday, September 2.
A dramatic picture taken from the scene shows the vehicle, understood to be a work van, engulfed in flames. Huge plumes of black smoke can be seen billowing up into the sky. The area around the vehicle can be seen coned off with a wheelbarrow nearby.
Firefighters battled the blaze until 2pm before leaving the scene. It is not believed anyone was hurt as a result of the blaze.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "We were alerted to a vehicle on fire on West Main Street in Armadale at around 12.38pm on Friday, September 2.
"We sent two appliances to the scene and left the scene once the area was made safe at 2pm."
Police Scotland confirmed they were called to the scene to assist fire crews. It is not yet know what started the blaze.
