Van Bronckhorst will NEVER claim Rangers title glory as Light Blues 'miles off' Celtic claims pundit

Jamie O'Hara reckons Giovanni van Bronckhorst will NEVER win the Scottish title and his Rangers team are 'miles off' stopping Celtic.

The Dutchman took over the top job following Steven Gerrard's departure for Aston Villa and he helped guide the team to a stunning European journey that ended in heart-breaking circumstances with a Europa League penalty shootout defeat to Frankfurt in Seville. He followed that up this season by navigating two rounds of qualifying to reach the Champions League group stages in a group alongside Liverpool, Napoli and Ajax.

Former Tottenham midfielder and talkSPORT pundit O'Hara believes the Ibrox gaffer is more suited to the European style of football and as a cause won't lift the Premiership crown. The 36-year-old also heaped praise on Ange Postecoglou branding him the 'real deal' and saying that has ultimately 'killed' Van Bronckhorst's chances.

Speaking to Grosvenor Sport, he said: “Rangers won’t stop Celtic this season, they’re miles off. I don’t think Van Bronckhorst will ever win the Scottish title. He’s more suited to European football. He’s a European manager that sets his team up like a European side. When they play in Scotland they struggle. Ange is the real deal at Celtic and that’s killed him.”

Open Goal Broomhill boss and former Celtic kid Si Ferry agrees with O'Hara's assessment about Postecoglou but fears he could depart at the end of the season.

He believes he will land a Treble domestically and if he reaches the knockout stages of the Champions League then it would prove very difficult for the Hoops to hold on to the Aussie boss.

He added: “I think he’ll clean up domestically this season and, if he qualifies for the last 16 of the Champions League, which I think he will, I think he could be off at the end of the season.

"I don’t just rate him because he’s the Celtic manager, he really has got something about him, so I think it will be tough for Celtic to keep hold of him next year, I really do.”
