THE all-weather tracks have rescued the Saturday afternoon TV racing action and that’s good news for CAPRICORN PRINCE (2.25).
He will be hoping Lingfield’s card survives an early-morning inspection as he’s got a good record at the track.
In eight visits to the original all-weather course, he has notched up four wins. He is unbeaten in three starts over this 1m4f distance at Lingfield.
His last two runs have come over much further but he is clearly very versatile and he found all sorts of trouble when a beaten favourite on his most recent start. Have 2pts to win at 6-1
Earlier on the card, LILKIAN (1.15) is turned out quickly by his trainer Daryl Holland just three days after finishing a close fifth over this 6f trip at Lingfield on Wednesday.
He sat a little too close to the decent pace and it made him vulnerable to those finishing well from further back.
That was a fair effort and he has a good record when returning to the track within a week of his last run.
He’s also become nicely treated, runs the track well and he gets on well with 7lbs-claiming apprentice jockey Liam Wright. Have 2pts to win at 4-1.
There’s also a competitive card at Chelmsford where GOT NO DOLLARS (2.40) should go well.
He won over 7f at Kempton last winter before following up dropped a furlong in distance at this track.
Although he gets away with sprint distances he is much better over this longer trip.
He hasn’t had things go his way from wide draws on his last two starts and I’m sure he’s running into the sort of form we saw from him last winter.
This will be his fourth run since his summer break so he should be spot on and his trainer Stuart Williams has been firing in the winners in recent days.
He should put it up to the short-priced favourite Lord Paramount. Have 1pt to win at 4-1.
COMPANY MINX (3.15) won over this track and trip in August.
He had excuses for a below-par run here a couple of weeks ago and his earlier close third confirmed his liking for this course.
His rails stall should allow him to get a decent position. Have 1pt each-way at 12-1.
