Value Scope: Steve Jones' three each-way horse racing tips for York's Saturday card

YOU better Watch out or you might miss a treat on York’s competitive card on Saturday.

The Pavers Foundation Catherine Memorial Sprint looks a red-hot race but I can’t for the life of me understand why WATCHYA (3.40) has so many ahead of him in the betting.

Clive Cox’s speedster has been incredibly progressive this year. He pulled right away from some promising rivals when putting in a personal-best performance at Lingfield three weeks ago.

Both of his wins have come on the all-weather but he showed last year that he has no problem with fast turf.

The likely strong pace will also help so snap up the 16-1. Have 2pts each-way, with most bookies paying out on five places and Sky Bet stretching to six.

Earlier on the card, the female amateur jockeys get a chance to shine in the Queen Mother’s Cup.

There are few better than Brodie Hampson and she rides THRONE HALL (2.00) for her fiancé Archie Watson.

It’s a bit of a leap of faith siding with this talented five-year-old. He hasn’t shown much in three starts for the yard having joined from Kevin Ryan but some of his best efforts have come following poor runs.

If he was to return to the form of his two placed efforts over today’s course and distance last season, he would have a fantastic chance. Have 1pt each-way at 10-1 with most bookies going four places and Sky Bet paying out on five.

At Chester, DIRTYOLDTOWN (3.20) sat too close to a frantic pace before dropping right out at Haydock last time.

He’s best judged on his good second at Musselburgh on his debut for Grant Tuer in April.

That form has worked out really well and he has copped the best draw. He’ll race from stall one and the top three boxes have been responsible for more than 45 per cent of the winners in races of more than nine runners over this track and trip in the last 10 years.

Have 1pt each-way at 33-1, with most bookies paying out on four places and Sky Bet going five.
