Valuable bikes stolen in showroom ram raid

Police are hunting for five men who stole motorcycles worth thousands of dollars in a brazen ram raid on a Sydney showroom.

Officers were called to a TeamMoto motorcycle dealership on Tattersall Road at Kings Park, in the city's west, at 3.25am on November 6 after reports of a break and enter.

A white Volkswagen Amarok ute had been rammed into the front of a showroom, smashing the glass before five men got out and stole several motorcycles.

Police on Thursday released CCTV of the month-old incident as they appealed for information about the robbery.

In the footage, the men in tracksuits and balaclavas can be seen leaving the Amarok and rushing through the smashed shop entrance.

Four of them fled the scene on stolen bikes with the fifth leaving in the four-wheel-drive ute.

The stolen motorcycles included a red Honda, a blue Yamaha and two orange KTMs, all of them recent models. Each sells for more than $10,000.

Police said the Amarok was found abandoned in nearby Marayong later the same day.

It had been reported stolen from Glenbrook two days earlier.

Detective Inspector Guy Magee described the robbery as a "brazen and dangerous act" that had put the public at risk.

He said the thefts were likely to be financially motivated.

"There's a very strong market for motorcycles, particularly in Sydney's west," Det Insp Magee said.

"They're very attractive to young men in particular."
