V Rising has sold more than 1.5 million units

It’s starting to look like V Rising could be this year’s surprise smash-hit.

On Tuesday, Stunlock Studios announced that V Rising has passed more than 1.5 million units sold. Not too shabby for an indie title that is only two weeks old. Jokes aside, that’s straight-up amazing.

Stunlock Studios is currently focusing on smaller-scale updates like bug fixes, server optimization, balance changes, and loads of quality of life updates for elements like PVP and crafting. However, the team is hoping for a shift to large content patches.

“Our mission will be to find out what is most important to our players and how to take V Rising to the next level,” Johan Ilves, marketing director at Stunlock Studios, said in a statement. “We currently plan to work on more extensive updates rather than run for frequent smaller patches and minor changes. It’s too early to tell when the first bigger V Rising content patch will arrive, as we will give it the time to make sure it brings something new to the experience.”

V Rising took over Twitch and Steam almost immediately. That momentum isn’t slowing down either, as TwitchTracker shows that V Rising is maintaining an average viewer count of 28,489 by the time of this post.
