A 29-year-old Uzbek citizen has been detained by Russian authorities for allegedly planting a bomb that resulted in the death of senior Russian general, Lt. Gen. Igor Kirillov, and his assistant. The incident occurred when a remotely detonated bomb was placed in an electric scooter outside an apartment building located approximately 7 kilometers southeast of the Kremlin.

Reports indicate that the attack on Gen. Kirillov came just a day after Ukrainian prosecutors sentenced him in absentia for Russia's alleged use of banned chemical weapons during a military invasion. Sources suggest that the Ukrainian security service, the SBU, may have been behind the attack, with the Uzbek suspect allegedly recruited by Ukrainian special services and instructed to carry out the operation in Moscow.

The Russian Investigative Committee revealed that the detainee received a homemade explosive device and strategically placed it on the electric scooter near Gen. Kirillov's residence. To monitor the general's movements, the suspect rented a car equipped with a surveillance camera, which transmitted live footage to the organizers of the attack in the city of Dnipro.

Upon receiving confirmation that the target was in proximity to the explosive device, it was remotely activated, resulting in the fatal blast. The committee stated that efforts are underway to identify other individuals involved in orchestrating the crime.

It was disclosed that the Uzbek suspect was promised a monetary reward of $100,000 and relocation to an undisclosed European country in exchange for carrying out the attack. Russian officials have expressed outrage over Gen. Kirillov's death, vowing to pursue justice for the incident with unwavering determination and severity.
