Uttarakhand: ED attaches Harak Singh Rawat's property worth Rs 70 crore

ED takes action against Harak Singh Rawat

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached Uttarakhand's Harak Singh Rawat's 101 Bighas of land situated in Uttarakhand's Dehradun district.
Property was in name of his wife, close associate
The attacked property is valued at Rs 70 Crore. The land was purchased in the name of his wife Deepti Rawat and his close associate Laxmi Rana.
On this land, the Doon Institute of Medical Science has been constructed under the Shrimarti Poorna Devi Memorial Trust, which is operated by his son, Tushit Rawat.

According to the Dynamite News correspondent, action has been taken against Harak Singh Rawat in connection with illegal tree cutting and construction in the name of Tiger Safari in the Pakhro Range of Corbett Tiger Reserve, as well as allegations of land fraud. In December 2024, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) intensified its investigation into this case. During the investigation, Rawat’s wife Deepti Rawat, close associate Laxmi Rana, and son Tushit Rawat, along with several relatives and associates, were interrogated.

The ED's investigation revealed that Harak Singh Rawat's close associates, Birendra Singh Kandari and Narendra Kumar Walia, registered two powers of attorney for the land as part of a criminal conspiracy. Although the court had annulled this transaction, the land was still sold to Harak Singh's wife and close associate.
