Uttar Pradesh: Youth miraculously survives but lost two fingers after train passes over him in Bhadohi

LUCKNOW: In yet another miraculous escape, a railway passenger survived with head injury and lost his two fingers after an entire 22-coach express passed over him on Wednesday afternoon in Bhadohi district.

The incident took place at Suriawan railway station of Bhadohi district around 1pm when the passenger, Raju Kashyap, slipped down on the railway track while attempting to board the general class of Mumbai bound Kashi express.

A viral video of the incident showed the entire train passing through while Raju lay low in the narrow space between the platform and the railway track.

Raju, a resident of Alipur Madra, Ghazipur district , was heading to Mumbai. In the incident he lost two fingers of left hand and suffered a head injury. "Raju slipped at the platform while attempting to board a moving train. His two fingers were crushed under train wheels, while at least four stitches were done to stop his head injury bleeding," said Janghai junction GRP incharge Inamullah Khan while speaking to TOI.

Victim was first taken to community health center Suriawan and then he was referred to Varanasi hospital. His condition was said to be stable.

Last week at Bharthana railway station of Etawah district, a man survived with bruises after he fell on track while attempting to board a moving train.

The video of the entire train passing over him went viral later.
