Mainpuri: A man on Tuesday attempted to end his life by setting himself on fire outside the Superintendent of Police (SP) Office in Mainpuri.
Police saves man
Swift actions by police personnel prevented him from setting himself on fire. The man accused police of not taking any action in the death case of his nephew.

The family members of the man said that on November 15 at 4 pm, some people of Udnadanda village asked Ajay alias Anshu to a meet them. After this, Ajay did not reach home. Next day Ajay's body was found hanging from a tree. The family alleges that Upendra, Bhupendra, Akash and Raghavendra of the village killed Ajay.
Bunty, who attempted self-immolation, said, "We went to the police station 20 times, but the police did not listen to us at all. Neither did they register a case, nor did they take any action. We were forced to attempt suicide."

Superintendent of Police (SP) of Mainpuri Rahul Mithas said that an FIR has been lodged in the death case and necessary action is being taken.
