The U.S. men’s national team’s Italian summer has begun.
Juventus officially has announced the signing of winger Tim Weah to a five-year contract in what is expected to be the first of a series of moves to Serie A for USMNT stars.
The 23-year-old arrives from French side Lille in a deal initially worth $11.3 million with another $2.3 million tied up in performance bonuses. Over the past three seasons with Lille, Weah made more than 100 appearances while also helping the club to a surprising Ligue 1 title in 2020-21.

The New York native has made 31 appearances in his USMNT career and started in each of the team’s games at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Now, he’s expected to be joined in Serie A by a handful of USMNT teammates. Last week, ESPN reported that Christian Pulisic had agreed to a move to join AC Milan, while Yunus Musah also reportedly has been in talks to join the side.
In joining a Serie A giant, Weah follows in the footsteps of his father, George Weah, an AC Milan legend who is the current president of Liberia and the only African player to win the Ballon d’Or.
