USMNT interim head coach Anthony Hudson has praised Arsenal loanee Auston Trusty for his performances at Birmingham City after naming him in his 24-man squad for this month's international break.
The USA will look to guarantee their place in the CONCACAF Nations League finals - set to take place in the summer - with victories over Grenada and El Salvador next week. Should they top their group, they will also ensure their place in the Gold Cup.
Hudson, who has been placed in temporary charge after Gregg Berhalter left his position after the World Cup, has included 13 players from the World Cup squad. Chelsea star Christian Pulisic and Arsenal's Matt Turner have been called-up alongside Fulham duo Tim Ream and Antonee Robinson.

Within his defensive options, Auston Trusty has been rewarded for his impressive displays in the Championship with Birmingham. The 24-year-old has made 40 appearances for John Eustace's side, scoring four and assisting two.
Trusty is yet to earn his first senior cap for the USA after being a regular throughout the youth ranks. He was unfortunate not to be named in Berhalter's World Cup squad, but he will now have a chance to impress this month.
Following the announcement of his squad on Wednesday, Hudson explained why he named Trusty. Asked by US Soccer the reason behind the inclusion of Trusty and FC Utrecht's Taylor Booth, he said: "In both cases they have done a great job progressing in their club careers. Auston is having a really good season with Birmingham City.
"Myself and others on the staff have seen him play live and we’re very pleased with his performances in the Championship. Taylor is someone who in his young career is progressing and now he's doing very, very well with Utrecht in the Eredivisie. Both of them deserve a chance."
