USMNT head coach B.J Callaghan has named his first squad as interim manager with Christian Pulisic and Matt Turner both selected for CONCACAF Gold Cup matches against Jamaica and Nicaragua as well as the Nations League semi-final against Mexico.
Callaghan, who was named as the temporary man in charge after impressing as part of Gregg Berhalter's time in charge of USA, will oversee a squad full of global stars with the first chance to win silverware since the World Cup in Qatar.
“B.J. has been an integral part of the USMNT staff during the last four years as this young team has grown and developed,” new sporting director Matt Crocker said in a press release last month. “Working alongside Anthony Hudson these last five months, we are confident he is prepared and ready to lead this group in the summer tournaments.”

USA will feature in the final four of the Nations League and could go on to face the winner of the Panama vs Canada semi-final. The loser of the match will play for a third-place finish as well.
As well as Chelsea star, Pulisic, Arsenal's Turner has been named in the group as well as Folarin Balogun and Auston Trusty.
Pulisic has had an underwhelming season with the Blues and is expected to leave the club this summer with interest in his services across Europe. Meanwhile, Turner has been tipped to also be in search of more first-team opportunities.
Balogun is involved in his first squad since changing allegiance to USA from England. Arsenal loanee Auston Trusty is also involved.
“In addition to having big-game experience and top-level talent, what’s great about this group overall is the familiarity and understanding that’s been built together these last four years about our style and our culture,” Callaghan said.
“We’re excited to integrate some of the newer faces as we set out to achieve our first goal of the summer in defending the Concacaf Nations League title.”
