Judging by the way things seemed to be going for South Florida on Saturday in the third quarter of its home game against UAB, it would have been fair to assume the Bulls lost.
Not only did they fall into a 19-7 deficit to the Blazers in the third quarter, but players on USF’s sideline appeared to be jawing with each other, and not in a good, hyped-up way. A couple Bulls players were exchanging some heated words, and at one point, it appeared as though defensive end Dinellson Exume had to be held back by his teammates.
Exume seemed to be getting into it with linebacker Jamie Pettway as their teammates tried to keep them apart. But then Exume took a swing, and it looked like he hit Pettway in the chin. After that, players and USF staff successfully separated them.

Not a great look for the Bulls, regardless, but they certainly don’t look like the kind of team that could mount a comeback win after that. But they did and ultimately beat UAB, 35-25.
