USCG Conducts Alien Expulsion Flight Operations To Protect Borders

New York City's first-ever electric air taxi flight

The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) is currently engaged in alien expulsion flight operations between California and Texas, aimed at intercepting and deterring illegal migration activities. Recently, a significant operation took place where the USCG intercepted a boat carrying nine illegal migrants that was on the verge of sinking in U.S. waters. The crew aboard the cutter Active successfully rescued all individuals on board and transferred them to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for further processing.

These operations are part of a coordinated effort between multiple Coast Guard units and CBP to enhance border security and protect the nation's territorial integrity. Led by the Eleventh Coast Guard District in California, assets and personnel from various locations are being mobilized to support the Department of Homeland Security-led operation.

According to a statement from the USCG, the flight operations transport illegal immigrants to designated locations in Texas and California, from where the Department of Defense facilitates their removal from the U.S. This strategic approach aligns with the President's Executive Orders to safeguard America's borders and sovereignty.

Adm. Kevin Lunday, the Coast Guard's acting commandant, emphasized the importance of collaboration among different agencies in combating illegal activities. He highlighted the successful coordination between the Coast Guard, Department of Homeland Security, and Department of Defense in detecting and interdicting threats before they reach the border.

Meanwhile, recent developments within the USCG leadership have raised concerns. President Donald Trump reportedly dismissed Adm. Linda Lee Fagan, the former commandant of the USCG, citing issues related to border security, recruitment, and trust. Allegations were made against Fagan for purportedly neglecting border security threats, inadequately addressing recruitment challenges, focusing excessively on diversity initiatives, and concealing Operation Fouled Anchor, an internal investigation into sexual assault cases at the Coast Guard Academy.
