USC’s Caleb Williams Claps Back at Notre Dame Fan Who Trolled Him on Field After Loss

Things couldn’t have gone worse for USC quarterback Caleb Williams on Saturday. Not only was his team blown out by Notre Dame, but fans rushed the field at Notre Dame Stadium and one unruly spectator went as far as to get in Williams’s face and make fun of his painted nails. The Trojan signal-caller paints his nails before every game and decided to respond to the disrespectful fan when talking to reporters Wednesday.

“I mean, everybody wants to be in these two [size] 12.5 shoes right here,” Williams said. “I’m not worried about some kid running out on the field that doesn’t have anything really associated to Notre Dame other than possibly their family going there or him going there himself. Got a lot of guys over here that I’ve got to lead, so some opinion of a sheep, lions don’t worry about that stuff. Keep moving on, keep fighting. Fight on.”

Saturday’s loss to the Fighting Irish marked the Trojans’ first loss of the season and Williams took a bulk of the blame for his uncharacteristic three interceptions. The Heisman-winner finished the game with just 199 passing yards and the 48–20 loss significantly hurt his team’s chances of making the College Football Playoff.

He’ll get his chance to get his team back on track Saturday when No. 18 USC (6–1) takes on No. 14 Utah (5–1) at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
