University of Southern California President Carol Folt issued a statement on Friday night addressing the ongoing anti-Israel protests on campus. Folt emphasized the importance of upholding school laws and policies, stating that there will be consequences for any violations.

Folt assured students that measures are being taken to ensure a quiet and safe academic environment for final exams and graduation ceremonies. She stressed the significance of maintaining peaceful and joyous events for graduating students.

While acknowledging the value of freedom of expression and lawful demonstrations, Folt made it clear that actions such as obstructing campus access, damaging property, and inciting harassment or violence are unacceptable.

The USC president highlighted the university's legal obligation to uphold accessibility and prevent vandalism and harassment on campus. She emphasized the need for everyone to abide by security measures and treat each other with empathy and respect during this intense period.

Disciplinary reviews are underway for individuals who have violated USC policy and the law. Folt stated that further actions will be taken, if necessary, to ensure campus safety and security.

Final exams at USC are scheduled to conclude on Wednesday, with graduation ceremonies set to begin on the same day. The university made the decision to cancel its traditional main graduation ceremony, citing new safety measures following recent protests and concerns over alleged anti-Israel posts from the valedictorian.
