Usain Bolt assesses Manchester United's season as Erik ten Hag admission made

Manchester United fan Usain Bolt believes it was a positive season overall for the club under new boss Erik ten Hag, despite it ending on a disappointing note.

United ended the Premier League campaign third in Ten Hag's first campaign in charge at Old Trafford. With that comes the return of Champions League football.

And a trophy drought lasting six years came to an end as United clinched the Carabao Cup following a 2-0 victory against Newcastle. But United were unable to add the FA Cup to their honours list as they lost 2-1 to Manchester City.

But eight-time Olympic gold medal winner Bolt, an avid United fan, believes there has been a step forward under Ten Hag and hopes new signings can be added in a bid to challenge City next season for the top flight crown.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Bolt said: “[The season] has been positive. I wish we won the FA Cup but it is just one of those things. We got one trophy and we are in the top four. The way we were looking for the past couple of seasons, this is just positive moment.

“I am just happy that we have a great coach that is really getting the team together. Hopefully, we can get some good players to add to the team and challenge for the league because it is going to be tough.”
