The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has implemented a protocol for terminated or administratively-leave employees to retrieve their personal belongings from the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, DC. According to the agency's website, individuals in this situation are required to bring their own boxes, tape, and containers for this purpose.
Each department has been assigned a specific time slot to access the building and collect their items. The directive posted on the website states that staff must bring their own packing materials and are only allowed to remove personal belongings, not U.S. government property.
Furthermore, employees are instructed to return any USAID-issued government equipment, such as iPads or laptops, before leaving the premises. They are also required to surrender USAID assets, including diplomatic passports, among other documents.

For those on administrative leave, they are advised to retain their USAID assets until their separation from the agency is finalized.
Upon retrieving their belongings, many staff members received applause and support from well-wishers. This process ensures a systematic and organized approach to the departure of USAID personnel from the Ronald Reagan Building.
