The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) headquarters in Washington, D.C. will be closed to staffers on Monday, as confirmed by sources. Some employees reported being locked out of the agency's computer systems overnight. Those who remained in the system received emails stating that the closure was directed by Agency leadership.

Elon Musk, leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative, mentioned during an X spaces conversation that President Donald Trump has agreed to shut down USAID. Musk indicated that the shutdown process is already in progress, likening the agency to a bowl of worms beyond repair, rather than a contaminated apple.

Elon Musk mentioned President Trump agreed to shut down USAID during X spaces conversation.

Over the weekend, the agency's website was taken offline. Musk expressed his admiration for President Trump, stating that he has grown to like him more as they have interacted. He has been vocal in his criticism of USAID on social media, calling it a criminal organization and a nest of radical-left Marxists who harbor anti-American sentiments.

Musk's posts on X reflected his determination to dismantle USAID, mentioning that the weekend was spent 'feeding USAID into the wood chipper' instead of attending social events. The business magnate's strong stance against the agency aligns with his vision for enhancing government efficiency.
