The U.S. Women's Basketball Team, including star player Brittney Griner, embarked on a unique journey to the Paris Olympics by train. The team's commute from London to France was a smooth and efficient process, providing a glimpse into their travel routine.

Special accommodations were made for the team, with National Team Director collecting and safeguarding passports to ensure a hassle-free trip. The players were escorted to a private lounge area before boarding their private car at the front of the train.

During the 90-minute train ride, players engaged in various activities such as watching movies, grabbing a quick bite, or catching up on rest. The coaching staff utilized the time to review game videos, focusing on strategic preparations for the upcoming matches.

Despite being shielded from the public for most of the journey, passengers at the station showed their support by taking photos of the players as they boarded the train. Upon arrival at the Lille station, the team proceeded to a waiting bus for transportation to the arena for practice.

This mode of travel was a new experience for the U.S. team at the Olympics, although it is a common practice when playing overseas during the winter season. The decision to take the train was prompted by the team's exhibition game in London and the convenience it offered in reaching Lille for pool play.

While the players traveled by train, their belongings were transported separately to their Paris hotel, ensuring a seamless transition for the team. Over 600 bags were delivered to the hotel rooms, with an additional truck carrying training supplies and essential items for practice in Lille.

The U.S. Women's Basketball Team is gearing up for their Olympic opener against Japan on Monday night, with preparations well underway for the highly anticipated tournament.
