Maciek Kaminski, the Polish/American real estate tycoon who had sought to acquire Everton last summer, has stepped away from investment talks.
Minnesota-based Kaminski had been a major part of a consortium being fronted by former Manchester United and Chelsea CEO Peter Kenyon and also containing US oil magnate and investor John Thornton in June 2022, the group having entered into a period of exclusivity with Farhad Moshiri over a takeover.
That period of exclusivity passed with no deal reached and talks at an impasse, although Kaminski remained interested in investing in the club to aid the financing of the stadium in the weeks that followed despite Kenyon and Thornton both stepping away from the project.

The Telegraph report that Kaminski has now decided to end any interest in investing in the Toffees, who sit second bottom in the Premier League and in a state of crisis both on and off the field following the 2-1 home defeat by Southampton on Saturday afternoon. The report claimed that no contact had been had between Kaminski and Moshiri since the World Cup in Qatar last month.
The ECHO has since been informed by sources that talks have not continued, nor are they likely to at any stage in the near future, with Kaminski, who is using KAM Sports LLC as the vehicle for a planned multi-club strategy, switching his focus to other potential opportunities.
Kaminski's KAM Sports LLC made their first acquisition last month when they took over at Greek top tier side Panetolikos. Since acquiring the Greek side, Kaminski has been linked with potential investment into Atletico Madrid, with Spanish media outlet Vozpopuli publishing images of Kaminski turning up at the Wanda Metropolitano to meet with Atletico CEO and main shareholder Miguel Angel Gil Marin, a friend and former associate of Kenyon. The latter worked in an advisory capacity for Atletico between 2014 and 2015.
The nature of the meeting was reported to be around investment with further talks planned for early 2023. Sources close to the Kaminski group described the reports around investment in Atletico as 'speculative'.
