
Washington DC: At least 24 people were killed as the United States launched airstrikes on Yemen, the first since Donald Trump took office in January.
At the same time President Trump issued a stern warning to the Iran-aligned Houthi group, declaring, "Their time is up." Trump also called on Iran to "immediately" stop its support for the Houthis.

The Houthis is an armed movement and has gained control over most of Yemen in the past decade.
Four Children Among Killed
Reports say, at least 13 civilians have been killed in US strikes on Yemen's capital, Sanaa, while 11 others, including four children and one woman, were killed in the northern province of Saada. Saada is a Houthi stronghold.
"The explosions were violent and shook the neighborhood like an earthquake. They terrified our women and children."

The Houthis said the Yemeni armed forces are "fully prepared to respond to escalation with escalation".
Trump cited the Houthis' threats against Red Sea shipping. The US Prez vowed to "use overwhelming lethal force until we have achieved our objective".
