Ronald Rowe, acting director of the US Secret Service, is heading to Florida following an apparent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. This information was confirmed by a law enforcement source familiar with the matter.
The official source chose not to disclose Rowe's specific travel plans.
Rowe assumed the role of acting director after Kimberly Cheatle resigned in July amidst concerns regarding security breaches linked to the assassination attempt on Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Rowe previously visited the scene of the Butler shooting and provided testimony on Capitol Hill, briefing members of Congress on the ongoing investigation. He has now been tasked with updating lawmakers on the recent incident in Florida.
