US Navy Searching For Crew Members After Aircraft Crash

U.S. Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt aircrafts fly during the U.S. led Saber Strike exercise in the air over Latvia

The US Navy is currently conducting a search for two crew members following the crash of a US Navy EA-18G Growler aircraft near Mount Rainier in Washington. The incident occurred during a training flight on Tuesday afternoon.

The aircraft, which was assigned to the Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 130 in Washington, crashed east of Mount Rainier. Multiple search and rescue assets, including a U.S. Navy MH-60S helicopter from NAS Whidbey Island, have been deployed to locate the crew members and examine the crash site. As of 7 p.m. on October 15, the status of the two crew members remains unknown.

The EA-18G Growler is an electronic warfare aircraft and a variant of the F/A-18 Super Hornet. The Navy has initiated an investigation into the crash. The unit to which the Growler belongs recently completed a deployment aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Our thoughts are with the crew members and their families during this difficult time as the search and rescue efforts continue.
