US media make Cristiano Ronaldo point after comeback goal for Manchester United vs Sheriff

Cristiano Ronaldo returned to the Manchester United squad and got on the scoresheet as Manchester United beat Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League. The Old Trafford faithful were delighted to see the Portuguese forward finally get his goal late in the game after Diogo Dalot and Marcus Rashford had got on the score sheet.

Ronaldo had of course been left out of United's previous squad against Chelsea after refusing to come on in the team's clash with Tottenam the Wednesday before. But it seems now that Erik ten Hag has made his point and is willing to put it all behind them as they search for silverware and a Top Four finish.

Speaking about the goal, Ten Hag said: "Seeing Ronaldo get his goal was great. He created, the team created for him and we know he has the capability to finish. He needed a goal and now I'm confident there will be more goals."

And fans replied to the tweet to show their happiness that Ronaldo was finally back among the goals:

ESPN gave the forward a seven in their player ratings, only behind Alejandro Garnacho and Diogo Dalot on an eight. Journalist Rob Dawson pointed out: "Whether these are the final acts of Ronaldo's second stint at United or not, he is still more than capable of scoring goals at the highest level."
