Washington: US President Donald Trump has imposed stiff tariffs on all goods imported from Mexico, Canada and China.
Trump signs executive orders
Trump on Saturday signed three separate executive orders to impose 25 percent tariffs on goods from Canada and Mexico, and 10 percent on all imports from China.
Notably, he had threatened to impose the import taxes if the three countries did not address the illegal immigration and drug trafficking.

However, energy imported from Canada, including oil, natural gas and electricity, would have a ten percent tariffs.
The move is aimed at protecting American workers and stemming the flow of illicit drugs like fentanyl, Trump said.
White House on Tariffs
Until the crisis is alleviated, President Donald J. Trump is implementing a 25% additional tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico and a 10% additional tariff on imports from China. Energy resources from Canada will have a lower 10% tariff, the White House said in a statement.

Mexico reacts
Reacting to the tariffs imposed by US, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced that she would impose retaliatory tariffs and vowed to protect the interest of the country.
Canada imposes 25% tariff
Reacting sharply to the tariffs by US, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Saturday said he would impose 25% tariffs on $155bn-worth of American goods.
