A US investment group has purchased a minority stake in Vanarama National League team Altrincham Football Club.
The move by Valcor Ventures LLC, which is based in Texas, is its first foray into sport and will see managing director Alberto Valdes join its board.
The deal comes after actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought fellow National League club Wrexham AFC in 2021.

Mr Valdes, who is also president and CEO at Hill Country Foodworks, said: "It’s not often that an opportunity becomes available to invest in a 131-year-old professional football club and we are excited to join the journey with Altrincham FC’s fan base, players and the wider business.
"Our group brings experience in various industries and we hope to bring this value through to the club over the coming years."
Bill Waterson, co-chairman at Altrincham FC, added: "We have been in discussions with Alberto and Valcor Ventures LLC for many months, and we are extremely pleased that the deal has now been finalised. Alberto not only believes in the vision of our club, but he brings with him a wealth of expertise.
"Having someone with his calibre and experience join us is an incredible moment for the Club as we enter into the next phase of our journey.
“At this time, we would also like to thank Chris Hamlett, who has decided to step down from the board.
"We thank him for his contribution to the club over the last couple of years and wish him well."
Last year, BusinessLive reported that broadcaster Mark Chapman had become a director at the club.
