US Divers Win Silver In Synchronized Springboard At Paris Olympics

Divers Sarah Bacon and Kassidy Cook made history as the first US athletes to secure a medal for Team USA at the Paris Olympics. The duo clinched a silver medal in the women’s synchronized 3m springboard event, finishing closely behind China’s Chang Yani and Chen Yiwen, who claimed the gold. Great Britain’s Yasmin Harper and Scarlett Mew Jensen secured the third spot on the podium.

During a post-event press conference at the Aquatics Centre in Paris, Chen expressed minimal nerves and extended gratitude to the supportive audience. Looking ahead, she acknowledged the advantage gained from the synchronized event, emphasizing the familiarity with the competition process and facilities on-site, which will be beneficial for the individual event.
